Busy Little Chicks

Yesterday morning we took some friends of ours over to the farm to see the new baby chickens that arrived on Monday. I think they were pretty impressed... little Miss L just took right up with them and straight away wanted me to find her one to hold. I obliged, and then a few minutes later looked over, and she was holding two. She just reached down and picked up a second one on her own. It was my turn to be impressed because none of my girls will even consider holding one of the baby chicks even though they have been around them for quite some time now. Sarah, Maggie, and Kate like to 'pet' them, but Ella really doesn't like to be close to them at all. In fact, every time L put one down on the threshold of the door which Ella was standing outside of, Ella started shrieking and screaming for her to put them back in the house.
After we finished checking out the chickens, we spent the rest of the morning at the pool and then picnicking at Mimi and Pop's.... never mind that it was somewhere near 100 degrees outside yesterday! We were all hot, sweaty, and grouchy by nap time so we said our goodbyes to our friends and headed home. Thankfully everyone, including Ella who rarely naps, crashed, and I was able to get a little bit of work done.

When the girls all finally woke up, they somehow got a bee in their bonnets about getting dressed up. So I let them dirty yet another outfit for the day and put on some cute little sundresses.

We went out for pizza with Mimi, Donna, and Mike for dinner, and then once we arrived back home they wanted me to "take lots of cute pictures for Daddy sine we're wearin' our cute dresses". So I did...

We took tons of pictures in our mini photo shoot for Daddy because he's been gone for 3 weeks now, and not a single one of the girls is the same since he left. Every time I tell the little gals that I love them they respond with "and Daddy lub me and miss me".
He sure does, sweetheart!

great photos! your girls are adorable.

everything is so green and lush where you live. looks lovely. all my photos have crusty dead grass in the background. we've been facing 100 degree days with a little break from a tropical storm.

That last line made me cry. Sorry no contact...totally slammed at home and work. Love, love, love to all the Blair girls.

Not only would my daughter have picked the little chicks up she probably would have unintentionally squeezed them to death. She just likes to "love" animals a little too much!

It looked like fun though!

I love them in their sundresses. They look so pretty.

I can't believe it's been 3 weeks already. I'm sure you can. I can't imagine not having Lance to come home every evening and save me. You still seem to have everything under control.

Are you planning their Birthday paty yet?
