Insomnia and a Contest

It is currently 2:07am, and I am fighting the worst case of stress induced insomnia EVER! This whole ARMY time frame thing... not knowing when Scott will be leaving, well it is driving me insane. I am quite sure it is much, much worse for him, so I try not to complain. Instead, I suffer the terrible, horrible, insomnia all alone (with my computer and all of you blog readers, I guess).

After lying in bed for the last 3 hours tossing, turning, and willing my eyes to stay shut, I finally decided to get up and announce our first ever blog contest.

Earlier this week I was contacted by a marketer for Chicco who offered me a brand new Trevi Twin Stroller to give away to one of my fabulous readers. Now, I've never done a contest before, but what an awesome first attempt! I am so excited for one of you to win this thing! Here it is.

According to the marketer, "The Trevi Twin is a double stroller, with full recline, built-in boot to ensure a safe ride for newborns, compact 3-dimensional fold, and great features for parents (an added bonus when you're traveling with twins!). While some double strollers may be too wide to fit through doors, or hard to maneuver, the Trevi Twin makes getting around a breeze. The stroller is recommended for children from birth to 40 lbs and retails for $219.00."

We have quite a collection of strollers in our garage, and I know firsthand that a good stroller can mean FREEDOM. While I can't speak for the Trevi Twin's awesomeness personally, I have many friends who absolutely love this brand.... I'm sure it will make a very nice addition to someone else's stroller fleet. So if this one has your name (or that of someone you know) written all over it, please enter to win.

Here's how:

- Leave a comment on this post stating why you need and/or want this particular stroller by 10pm, Eastern Standard Time, on Wednesday July 23rd.

- Because Blogger doesn't number comments and I could definitely not handle the extra stress of choosing the winner myself, I will print out all the comments and place them in a hat, or bowl, or baby doll stroller... whatever the Four Silly Sisters and I can get our hands on, and we'll randomly select the winner.

-It will be our great pleasure to announce the winner on Thursday the 24th of July.

I don't necessarily need a twin stroller but have friends that do. Can my name go in for them :)

As for the blocks - they're easy - it's the stripes that are hard! Blocks: tape off and paint in between. But I'll be sure to stop in GA on my next trip to FL and show you how!!

We'll have two kids eventually, so put my name in, too, please.

My thoughts and prayers are with you guys!

I could always use another stroller to keep my crazy girls in one place! Our friends have one of these and LOVES it! What a cool thing to give away.

Take care!

As you know, that unless the Lord knows something I don't, we don't have twins. :)

But do still have 2 that ride in a stroller and I can't stand my big bulky double one.

Well, to clarify, I love some of it - the way it pushes, but it's so... big and difficult to transport!

Put my name in!

I wish I could offer some words to give you peace - but you know there's nothing anyone can say - only the Lord gives the perfect peace!

I know you're trusting in Him, just tell Him your concerns and lack of sleep and NEED of sleep - then glory in Him as He meets your needs!

Trevi Twin stroller, why do I need thee,
Let me count the ways.

heehee. sorry I couldn't resist.
well, I could definitely use that little lovely as we just found out that baby number seven (yes, 7!) is on the way. That little duo sure looks like it folds up nice and neat and space is of a luxury around these parts.

It also occurred to us last night that we need a new vehicle as now we will not all be fitting into ours anymore. We are also recently a one car family. So if you know anyone holding a very large van contest, please let me know. :o)

It's cool you got the opportunity to do this. I want to give great stuff away too. How do I get on lists for this kind of stuff?

Yet another stroller? Put my name in the hat and we'll retire the single stroller and get this monkey off my back. Sometimes she falls asleep and drools on my neck.

Well you saw the photo of my kids all piled into one double stroller. We have another one but it is old and really hard to push. Can you toss my name in please?

I can relate with the insomnia, I am a chronic sufferer. I can't imagine your frustrations with waiting to find out when he leaves. Hope you get some answers soon. And a little sleep would be nice also.

While I don't need a another stroller my good friend Laura does. She just gave birth to a preemie. She had to have an emergency c-section because of HELLP. She has a 1 year old as well. They are going to need a good stroller.

Okay, if I were to win this I would give it to my Best Friend who just found out she is pregnant with baby #3, there will be a year and a half between 2 and 3 and 10 years from baby 1. She could use it! marcella@cableone.net

I need a twin stroller because mine was ruined on my recent flight from Taiwan to home. 33 hours later I ended up with a stroller minus the trays and footrests =(

Thanks for the great giveaway!

I have triplets and we hate to use the triplet stroller anymore because they want to walk so much but the single isn't enough to take turns. I definitly could use the double and stop borrowing from friends on trips!

This stroller would be wonderful! My 3 little monkeys (4 and under) often fight over stroller seats. My SUV double stroller can be such a pain and I would love to have a lightweight one like this to use! I enjoy reading your blog, I went to NGCSU with your sister, Cari. You have a beautiful family, and I'll continue to think of you as your husband deploys~ I can't imagine!

I am definitely interested in this! I have a 2 month old and a 2 year old. Well, and a 4 year old, but he rides his bike as we walk. This would come in handy!!

Please pick me!! :) My double, front to back, is falling apart and besides, it brings on so much fighting that I hat etaking it anywhere. The back person kicks the seat in front, pulls hair of the front rider and is generally unhappy, which makes me unhappy.

I could TOTALLY use a new double!!

You are a strong woman MB. Best of luck as you and the girls say "goodbye" to Scott for his service. Thank him for all of us!!

i adore my side by side double...with 1 year old triplets (29 weekers) it is an essential in my daily life. i usually use it and a baby carrier to get around when i am alone with them. it is the easiest way to get in and out quickly. but the wheels are broken. and though i could really use a new double stroller, we just can't afford one right now. count me in and thanks for running the contest!

First of all, thanks for having the contest! So we can get another chance of winning it! I stroll my girls every morning in our neighborhood which has a lake & many hills. At first, I used the Graco DuoGlider but it was too heavy & the wheels were just not wonderful for the roads. Oh, and whichever darling sat in the back pulled the hair of the darling in the front - HA! So, I then purchased the Jeep side by side umbrella type stroller. And this is what I use now but it is in terrible shape! It looks like 2 little twin tornadoes got a hold of it! And the Jeep stroller does not fit through doorways well. I just love strolling my girls & seeing them interact with each other and our neighbors. And the Jeep stroller has seen it's last days.
Thanks again for having the contest!

Would love a double stroller to have on hand that folds up small and easy to travel with!

I SO need a lightweight twin stroller...we finally saved up to go to Disney World, and it's $30 a day there to rent a double...we have a tandem but it's incredibly heavy and would be difficult to get on and off transportation...plus I LOVE my Chicco single, so I figure the double has to be even better!

We are the proud parents of an almost 2-year-old boy adopted from Vietnam, a 1-year-old biological boy, and (drum roll please...) we are expecting twins in January 2009Yep, that's 4 children under three years old!

We currently have a double stroller that we are not pleased with. I walk with my kids every morning and struggle to roll over every crack and break in the sidewalk. My friend, with whom I walk and who also has two youngsters, glides effortlessly over the cracks with her Chicco double stroller. Let's just say I have Chicco envy!

All that aside, though, we will definitely be needing a second double stroller when the twins arrive and wouldn't this just be the perfect one?

Good luck to everyone!

Angelique

So a light weight twin and then finding a single would be excellent.

A twin stroller? How awesome is that and what perfect timing. Why I need a double stroller...well, we are having baby #2 in early December and are super excited. I already have the single version of this stroller for my toddler and absolutely love it. Plus, you are going to announce the winner on my baby's 2nd birthday; it would be a perfect birthday gift :)
Thanks for hosting this contest and I can't wait to hear who the winner is on the 24th.

I personally have no intention of needing a double stroller, but there are many people around me who do. Might as well put me in the hat too. I've enjoyed reading your blog and seeing the girls doing well. I'll have to share the blog with the girls at work (www.NGHS.com)
Thanks for taking the time to do the contest.

After getting rid of all my baby things, and now expecting twins in 6-8 weeks, a double stroller would be a HUGE blessing. We are in need of all-things-baby!

What a beautiful family. We will be praying for you as Scott leaves for overseas. You are amazing!

What a fabulous stroller! Please put my entry in! I am a single mom of twins who were born prematurely and have some developmental delays. They are making great progress, but still need to take frequent rests and breaks when we are out on our adventures. This stroller looks like a fantastic comfy way for us to go out and explore the world and still allow them to have a great place to relax!

Your little girls are so beautiful and I'm so happy to have found your blog! I will continue to read, give-away or not. ;)

As for the stroller, I'm in desperate need of a SBS for my 1-year old identical twin girls. My back is aching from pushing around our enormously heavy front to back Graco. Thank you!!!

I have identical twin boys that are 5 months old. We are actually currently looking for a stroller that is similar to the Trevi Twin. We use the snap n go and I'm tired of the boys just looking at the ceiling whereever we go. This would be so helpful to not have to purchase. As you know even more than me...the formula and diapers of multiples sure do add up!

Thanks,

I just found your site via 4 Little Things. Since running over our double stroller last month (oops!) I am in desperate need of a new one!!! At 21 months I thought we could get away with hand holding and walking, but I'm finding I must have been insane to think that. =)

We could use it!!!!! Four toddlers definitely wear out our strollers!!! Thanks!

I'm just catching up now...Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.
As far as the stroller is concerned...It sure would be nice not to have to transfer our big heavy stroller from one car(mine)to another(DH's) every time we switch cars.

I'm expecting #2 in October! My oldest will be 20 mos when this little girl is born. I would LOVE to have the Chicco stroller! I've been eyeing it for a while! I haven't bought a duo stroller yet...have just been looking on Craigslist! A free NEW one would be even better!

Choose me, Choose me! (hand in the air waving! hehe)

Also~You are in our thoughts & prayers as your husband leaves & serves!

Please put my name in the drawing! I am the mom to 3 boys (2 of which are surviving triplets). I am a SAHM mom and my husband is in school full time and works full time to support our family. I would love a side-by-side that you can actually push. Mine is horrible and in my other double stroller the boys kick and hit each other. And as all of us moms of multiples know a stroller equals freedom.
Thank you for adding my name!!

Thanks to you both for your incredible sacrifice! As for why the stoller...I have a just turned five year old, three year old, 22 month old, and six week old baby. Numbers three and four need a ride! :) (I also know a few folks on this post, so I could always pass it along if needed.)

Hey there! Our cousin, Kelli Cruce, told us about this contest and we would love to have our name 'put in the drawing bucket'! We went through infertility for years and this March the Lord graciously blessed us with beautiful twin girls! Needless to say, this stroller would come in very handy! So glad you are having a contest....how fun! We have enjoyed reading your blog and seeing the journey you guys have been on...when I have felt really overwhelmed and busy this past week, i just go to your blog and see that I 'm not nearly as overwhelmed and busy as I could be!! :)

Oh how fun... I could for sure use a new double stroller as ours is no longer in service. Sadly, the wheel came completly off...while the kids were in it! Talk about an adventure- LOL :)! Anyway, as a SAHM, we haven't found the money to replace it yet. I've been looking on Craigslist, but winning one would be fantabulous :)!

It's been so nice to vist your blog! I will be praying for your family. Thank you for the sacrifice you are all making for our country. Many blessings to you and your little ones!

Hi Mary Beth. I enjoyed reading your blogs and very sorry for you insomnia. I would love to be able to help my Brother and Sister in law who were blessed with triplets boys on Sept 18th, 2006. Sadly on little man was made an Angel just 8 short days later. As you know these 2 little toddlers are quite a handful within themselves a side from the influence of their almost 5 year old brother:).

Thank you for taking the time to do this raffle in all your "FREE TIME"
