In Memory of Bandit

Isn't he beautiful!

The saying "When it rains, it pours" certainly held true around here today. E was sick yet again with the stomach bug. I think that the bug itself is actually over, but her stomach just hasn't recovered yet. We're hoping for a dramatic turnaround by tomorrow...
I realized when I was taking the babies out for a stroll this morning that I hadn't seen Bandit since last evening. I spent some time this afternoon calling for him. I looked under the porch and in the garage... no sign. When I finally found him it wasn't good. He was lying in the tall grass in the shade at the edge of the yard on his tummy with his back legs stretched out behind him. However, I knew that since he hadn't come when I called him earlier that he was most likely dead. We believe he may have had a seizure last week... Scott took him to the vet and that is what they guess happened. We are so sad. Bandit was our true first baby. We bought him a couple of weeks into our almost 8 year marriage. He has been through a great deal with us, and we're going to miss him terribly! E is already asking where her dog Bandit is. I just told her like we used to tell Bandit on Sunday mornings when we were getting ready for church and he wanted to come that all dogs go to heaven and that is where he has gone now.

It made me so sad to read about Bandit. I remember when you and Scott brought him to T'ville, he was just a puppy. Judging by the grey in his face, the years caught up with him. He had a great life with a family that loved him!

Ms. Kit,
Sorry I can't get the duplicate comment to go away... I'm not blog savy enough just yet. Don't worry about it.
