The weather here today was amazing. We were able to go for a stroll this afternoon in the choo choo. For the first half of the trip Ella pushed Sarah in the car while Maggie and Kate rode in the choo choo. Then Sarah joined the other two in the wagon and I pushed Ella in the car.... it's all about having options around here. Because Scott and I are usually behind the camera and not in many photos, and also vainly because I wanted to show off my new and improved hair, I asked Scott to take some photos of me with the girls. Then Mr. Macho needed me to take his picture pulling almost 90 lbs worth of children up hill in the choo choo. Ha, ha, ha!!

Random Pictures and Blah, Blah
Daddy with Ella & Sarah upon return from a trip...just before bedtime.
I had a most wonderful afternoon yesterday. I went to the salon and had a very, very overdue cut and color. It was wonderful to be out of the house and so nice to have good hair again. I had previously scheduled to go the day Ella was sick a few weeks ago and my reschedule day was the one I ended up taking Kate to the doctor for her allergic reaction... needless to say my hair was looking pretty bad after being put off not once but twice. Hopefully we'll get a picture of me on here sometime soon so I can redeem myself from the awful hair in the Pumpkin Patch photos! The sacrifices a mother makes.....

The B-I-B-L-E
Ella's new favorite song is the B-I-B-L-E. She sings it lots! There is nothing sweeter than hearing her sing every word in her nice voice, but unfortunately I've only been able to video her singing the hyped up, yelling version. Enjoy!

Fall Festival
Sarah with her freshly painted flower
Our church held their Fall Carnival this evening from 4 to 6 pm. We took all the girls and had some fun. We played games, jumped in a big jump house, played with some big balls, and took a long hayride. I stopped trying to get them to wear their costumes and even gave up on pictures all together after we had been there for about 20 minutes. Perhaps another day we'll dress up in our kitten attire for a picture.... probably not, but one can hope, right?!?

The Pumpkin Patch
Fall is my favorite season of the year.
Scott and I took the girls to the Pumpkin Patch yesterday, and we all had a great time. Even though there are several amazing pumpkin patches within 2 hours drive of us, we chose the little, bitty, local place 10 minutes from us. We were the only people there when they opened yesterday morning at 11am, so we had the whole place to ourselves for pictures. The girls ate, or at least attempted to eat, their weight in small rocks... it was delightful! The weather was overcast and cool, but we're really enjoying the change from the heat of summer.
All us girls were dressed in black shirts because when Ella woke up yesterday morning she wanted to try out her Halloween costume. I decided it would, in fact, be a good idea for me to make sure that I had all the items I needed for our four little kittens. By the time we finished testing everything out, they were all in black onesies, and I was too lazy to change them. Scott wasn't about to put on anything that matched!!
Last year Halloween was a mini disaster for Ella and I because we planned what she would be in our minds, but didn't bother to check that we had everything or that it all fit until the afternoon of the church's fall festival... which was the only opportunity that she was to have to wear the outfit. Needless to say, there were some tears shed, and we had to improvise a costume. So this year I was careful to have all the necessary pieces... and now I've even tested to be sure it all fits. Not that the babies will actually wear their ears and tails, but I will post some pictures tomorrow night when we get home of the mama cat and her three naughty little kittens who soiled their mittens with pie.

Update
I thought I would take a minute to give the update that Kate is actually looking much better this evening as I wait to give her a midnight dose of Benadryl. She has continued to be in great spirits all day today despite the rash, so things are definitely headed in the right direction.
In other news... Kate walked all the way across Ella's room today. She has been our hold out on the walking front until now. I realized over the weekend that perhaps she had no reason to walk because I was carrying her everywhere since the other two are toddling around so well. I tested out the theory since Sunday, and voila' today she is walking.... just needed a little bit of encouragement.
Maggie, Kate, and Sarah have a couple of new favorite games. They all love to take their lovies out of the bed and then lie down on them and pretend to go to sleep. It is so cute. They close their eyes about half way and then look up at you to make sure you are still watching. Kate loves to climb up into a rocking chair and sing "Rock a Bye Baby". Sarah walks in circles singing "Ring Around the Rosy". Maggie and Sarah both have a new found appreciation for falling down as a result of their love for "Ring Around the Rosy". They actually sit down then lean way back with their arms extended out behind them and "fall". The funniest thing is how proud they all seem to be of themselves. I'm going to have to get some of this on video!
Time to go dose up the baby, and then off to bed until the 6am dose...

DEFINITELY NOT BETTER...
Here are a few shots of Kate from this morning... definitely not better!! We ended up back at the doctor's office. She said Kate has had a severe allergic reaction to the antibiotic she was on. The good news is that her ear infection is gone so we don't have to worry with another one. She red flagged her chart so that we won't run into this same drug again..., and Kate now has a steroid to take in addition to the Benadryl every 6 hours around the clock until this clears up. Now, you can all just imagine what a basket case I'll be the next time any of the girls has to have an antibiotic! Will we be allergic, or not?!?

Triplet Mom's Retreat
On Friday afternoon I made a jailbreak trip up to the mountains with 11 other mothers of multiples. We had a great time. How could we possibly not have fun.... between the 12 of us we have 47 children, none of whom came with us on this trip!
We spent our time lounging around in our "family pants", eating, drinking, relaxing, and just plain enjoying the company of others who know the things we are going through. Never mind the fact that I had never even met any of these other ladies in real life before Friday night! I find it fascinating that having triplets is enough in common to make for such an enjoyable weekend away with previous total strangers... whom I now consider friends. The whole weekend went off without a hitch, and not a one of us was distraught over not having plates to fix, children to feed, diapers to change, disputes to referee, you get the picture...
I was barely able to trudge through the end of last week with all the teething, sickness, and general fussiness, but now I am feeling totally refreshed and ready to face another week. I had wonderful, wonderful little reasons to hurry home this morning...
Thank you girls for a much needed break!!!

Sickness Saga Continued...
So when last I wrote I was anticipating taking Sarah to the doctor on Monday. I ended up taking both Sarah and Ella for fevers and just not their normal behavior. However, they both checked out okay and our dear doctor didn't even charge us a co-pay. She said that it looks like Sarah has 2 molars coming in soon, so that explains her fever. Ella's lethargy could have been explained by over-tired state or slight dehydration still from being sick earlier in the week. Who knows??? By the time I got home with those two, Kate had broken out in a terrible looking rash all over her trunk. I called the doctor Tuesday morning when it was still there because I was concerned she might be allergic to her antibiotic... which she was fighting like crazy to not have to take anyway! Based on my description they presumed the rash was part of an illness and not a reaction. Thankfully it was gone by today.
In the mean time, overnight Tuesday both Scott and I were sick with a stomach bug, food poisoning, or something. He was in NYC in a hotel room, and I was here with the girls. All day Wednesday we had to rely on other people to care for the girls because I was completely out of commission....meanwhile, Scott called in sick for his flight and then had to wait in the hotel until he felt well enough to dead-head home. After a miserable 12- 24 hours we are all back together and seem to be on the mend. Hopefully I'll be able to start posting pictures again much more often!
